Week 2 - JRHL

Week 2 Recap

JRHL Recap Week 2 – Tim George Returns, Curtis Nets 7 and the Red Jaguars remain unbeaten.

Purple Parrots: 7 – Red Jaguars: 13

The Red Jaguars righted the ship after a slow start and remain perfect so far. The Parrots led after the 1st period but the Jaguars started to build momentum going into the 3rd period with the game being tied at 7 apiece. The 3rd period was all Jaguars as they scored 6 unanswered goals. Duane Reed continued his great form with scoring 5 goals and also scoring 5 was Dave Wilt on his season debut. Chad Davis also scored a hat-trick for the parrots.

Silver Snakes: 9 – Green Monkeys: 8

The game of the week easily offered the best game of the season yet. In a game that was back and forth and could have gone either way, the Silver Snakes edged out the Green Monkeys with a late 3rd-period goal. Tim George returned to the Silver Snakes lineup after missing game 1 and had a big night scoring 6 goals and 1 assist, finishing the night with 7 points. Both teams had goaltenders making their season debut with Brandon Bird returning after missing game one and Steve Tomkowski filling in for starting goaltender Dean Carpenter.

Blue Barracudas: 15 – Orange Iguanas 6

Brandon Curtis led the Blue Barracudas to their second win of the season against the Orange Iguanas with a 7 goal night. It was a close game after the 1st but the Barracudas had an offensive surge in 2nd, scoring 8 goals to the Iguanas 1. The Iguanas tried to make it interesting in the 3rd by scoring 5 goals but the Barracudas answered with another 5 of their own.

Another week is in the books. I hope everyone is ready for week 3. #IsItSundayYet
