GOTW – 5:30 Blue Barracudas vs Red Jaguars

  • Split stats- Matt Pfiel career 7.25, Ryan Akers career 8.25
  • Rivalry series is 2-2 with the fish having won two straight
  • Barracudas lead 33-29 in total scoring.

The top teams in the league are squaring off with just 2 points currently separating them. Both the Barracudas and Jaguars were winners in their week 5 matchups. The fish have one of the best defense/goalie combos in the league having allowed only 52 goals through 6 games. Red has won consecutive games for the first time this season and will hope to maintain momentum. Each team has managed to touch double digit scoring just once in this rivalry series. It’s possible the winner of this game will have home court throughout the playoffs.

6:30 Green Monkeys vs Orange Iguanas

  • Split stats- Dean Carpenter career 5.67, Tyson Botteicher career 7.33
  • Monkeys are 3-0 against Iguanas
  • Monkeys with slight edge in total scoring 22-17

The Monkeys and Iguanas are both coming off losses in week 6 and will look to rebound on Sunday. Orange has historically brought their best game when the Monkeys visit town. Despite having won all three games, Greens total margin of victory in the series is only 5 goals. Expect this to be another tightly contested match with solid goaltending keeping the final count low.

7:30 Purple Parrots vs Silver Snakes

  • Split Stats- Brandon Bird career 9.67, Jason Adams career 13.33
  • Snakes are 2-1 lifetime against Parrots
  • Snakes lead the total scoring 40-29

The Parrots were victors in week 6 while the Snakes will try to get back on track. Huge playoff implications here as it seems quite likely these two teams will battle for the final postseason spot. During their first matchup Purple came out hot and threw everything but the kitchen sink on net. Expect the Snakes to do a better job matching up defensively this time around. However, this game features two of the top scorers in the league which will provide a hefty challenge to both starting goaltenders/defenses.
